Elevators

Cargo weapons elevators - provide safe and reliable transportation of cargo and munitions in pallet loads, containers, and stowage cradles.  They also provide for movement of electric forklift trucks and batteries between cargo holds and the deck levels served by the elevator.  Typically these elevators are dispatch-type platforms, where operation of the elevator can only be initiated from the level at which the platform is located, and have a rated load capacity of 12,000 pounds.  Each elevator is comprised of one platform, suspended by four wire ropes which are connected to the hoist assembly. 
  





Stores elevators are similar systems that provide vertical movement of individual pallet loads of provisions between handling areas and freeze, chill and dry provisions storerooms.
